Crewel Bedspreads are made using wool embroidery on cotton, duck, velvet and organza backgrounds. Embroidery is done by hand using Crochet Hook locally called as “Aari”. 1-Ply and 2-Ply wool yarns are used for embroidery. 2-Ply wool Embroidered bedspreads are costlier than 1-Ply wool.

Bedspreads made on cotton backgrounds don’t have a lining whereas those made on velvet and organzas are lined.

Crewel Velvet Bedspreads with matching cushion and pillow covers are also made.
